Cocaine (COC) drug test is for quick and easy detecting of COC and first of all benzoylecgonine (metabolite of cocaine) by means of immunochromatographic assay in urine.
Cocaine (COC) drug test is for quick and easy detection of COC and first of all benzoylecgonine (metabolite of cocaine) by means of immunochromatographic assay in urine. Its cutoff is optional – 300 ng/ml of COC, as it is advised by Substance Abuse and Mental Health services administration(SAMSHA).
Cocaine can get into the body orally, when you smoke or in intranasal or intravenous way and then it passes out as benzoylecgonine in the urine in some time. The benzoylecgonine can exist from to 5 to 8 hours and cocain for only 0,5-1,5 hours. It is possible to find it during 24-80 hours after taking cocaine.
Cocaine (COC) drug test reveals the presence of cocaine due to the definite immunochemical reactions, which take place between antibodies and antigens.
The test has a sensitivity of 300ng/ml of COC.
How to use the test:
1. Take the tests strip out of the foil pout.
2. You should put the strip partially down into urine, while holding the test in the vertical position. You should not put it deeper the maximum line. (Fig.1)
3. Assess the result in 3-5 minutes.
How to interpret the test:
1. The correct work of the test will be proved by the color band coming into view at the left zone of the result area. This is the control band.
2. The right zone shows test results. If you see the band of different color there, this is the test band.
The test is negative when you see 2-color bands. This denotes that COC was not found during the test. The test band can be of lighter or darker color than control band.
The test is positive when you see one color band, your specimen has COC in it.
The result is invalid if the left does not contain color band in the left zone of the result area.
Take into consideration that if very faint band is seen in 5 minutes in the right zone of the result area, that means that the amount of COC contained is lower the cut-off test level. It is better to make the test once again. The option can be a different method, for example, gas chromatography or mass spectrometry until you can get a definite answer.
